As the deadline for introducing new legislation approaches, a couple of interesting bills are rumored to be among the 2,500 or so bills we can expect to be introduced this year:
- One bill contains requirements for flushable wipes
- Another will require the elimination of internal combustion engines in trucks by 2030
- There may be a bill calling for a carbon tax on all products based upon their contents and the environmental impacts from the manufacturing process
- Much work is going into developing Prop 65 language to address the cancer risks from brewing coffee (will coffee drinkers take it seriously?)
We will not know for certain until after tomorrow’s bill deadline whether these bills get introduced, but the likelihood is high.
